Maybe someone already bought Wrap920, or Vuzix stuff will see this theme, I have a few questions.

1. Does Wrap920 have see-trough capabilities? What was told a few month ago, but now it doesn't mentioned on the website.
2. If Wrap920 is see-trough, can we regulate transparency of the screens?
3. Does "world around" became distorted because of optics?
4. Can we buy Wrap accessories right now? I mean VGA cable, 6DOF tracker, eyebrow cameras, do they available?
5. If VGA cable and tracker not available, when they will be?
6. Wrap920 have more advanced electronics than AV920 (less heating, more incoming video formats) or it's the same stuff just repackaged in another "stylish"-box?

and

7. When we will see VR1440? Or at least some info about it.
8. When will be update for VR920 software package?

Thank you.

It looks like they are not see through: http://gamesalfresco.com/2009/09/30/vuzix-wrap920-will-see-the-light-of-day-in-2009-but-will-not-see-thru/

I wonder if the stereo camera could fill in the screens with what the panels block out? Seems like that would be the way to not have the optics distort the "world around".

I am waiting for the VR1440(800x600) unless Vuzix changed their mind and instead make a 16:9 VR1220(852x480) or VR2760(1280x720). It almost seems silly to come out with anymore 4:3 displays.

The old VFX1 had a better diagonal field of view of 45 degrees.

The Wrap 920 only has 31 degrees

http://www.mindflux.com.au/products/iis/vfx1-2.html#specifications

Thats a big price to pay for a higher resoluton.

I can't find any reviews on the wrap 920 yet. Still early but I would like to see reaction from flight simmers.

VR920 is successor of VFX-1 and VFX-3D. And it's actually great for flight simulations, you can read many posts about it here. I'm flight-simmer and I own VR920 and glad about it!
Wrap920 - have no software support now for flightsimming in stereo (VR920 have), and I see there is still no tracker for Wrap920 (VR920 with built-in tracker). Still for PC based gaming & simming VR920 is best.

Thats really disappointing if the Wrap 920 isn't a see-through display as previously advertised. I mean, it might still be cool but it seems rather limited. I guess for iPhone stuff it could be useful but probably not much else. I still want one, but I realize its a low-end unit. Vuzix might as well not even bother releasing any other headsets until they can do something about the resolution/FOV. I am talking about 720P @ 60 degrees FOV *MINIMUM*. Anything less is a joke.

Yes, I really hoped to buy a see-through display. Now "sunglasses-look" is pretty useless without this vital feature.
We also don't know does new headtracking (6DOF) clip will be available someday. I hope so, I will buy Wrap only with head-tracking.

720P is a fantasy, If someone release such HMD with sub 1k price - thats would be a real break-trough
I think if Vuzix will release VR1440 (800 x 600) with a software part compatible with VR920, and prise much less than eMagin's Z800 (I mean something like ~500$ against 1500$) that will be a small step forward. Personally I would buy such HMD without doubt.

considering the few 720P (SXGA) HMDs available are cranial enveloping hardware at prices more common to compact cars, I should say so.

the future is here, but you must pay dearly, and look silly.

I still don't have enough information to make a buy decision yet.

The VR920 only has 3dof. You need 6dof for flight sims, which I know the Wrap 920 will have.

Trackir has sweet videos on youtube and I'm even tempted to attach trackir to a Wrap 920 for tracking as a temporary workaround. The Wrap920 would allow you to look directly at the image while you rotate your head. Granted, you would not have 360 degrees rotation but it might be better that using trackir with a monitor. I could get a huge monitor but the vuzix Wrap920 has that future potential with augmented reality.

Will the Wrap 920 give us 3d in games?

How much better is the Wrap920 over the VR920 in terms of visual quality? There's still no reviews on it on the web.

The see through screen is not necessary because a stereo camera can feed you an image of the outside world.

Throw us more information vuzix. Serious buyers need to know what the time frame is for the camera and tracking features.

I know I would pay more for a better field of view.

Thanks for the link KydDynoMyte.
I recently bought VR920 and CamAR for my project.
Glad I didn't wait for 'optical see trough' Wrap920

Where did you guys hear or read about the "VR1440"? Is it unknown if they already are in production? or when they will be available? Will they have greater FOV? And btw, how big is the FOV for the wrap920's?

You can't see through the screen of the wrap 920. Its a small square area in the center of the glasses that show video. Also, you cannot view your iphone screen unless you are watching an actual video on your iphone.
