Recently, Sony announced that a new firmware update will make stereoscopic 3D available on the PS3: http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/04/ps3s-new-3d-mode-captured-on-video-coming-in-2010-to-all-exist
I would like to know if it will be possible to use one of the available Vuzix visors to play PS3 games in stereoscopic 3D.

As far as I know, it is impossible to use the VR920 for that.

Maybe it would be possible for Wrap?

It has recently come to my attention that the console title Avatar can be played in 3D using the Wrap 920.

Excellent!

Other questions:
1) What about the recently released stereoscopic versions of Wipeout HD, Pain and SuperStardust HD which can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store?
2) Is stereoscopy available for ALL PS3s (US, EU and JAP, and both fat and slim)?
3) Is any firmware update necessary for stereoscopy on the PS3 to work?
4) What video output are you supposed to connect the Wrap 920 to, to correctly set it up for stereoscopic 3D?

well lets see if i cant help a bit.

1)unfortunatly, the new ps3 3d is done via hdmi only, so not right now for the new titles
2)yes, if your ps3 has an hdmi port, it does s3d
3)update 3.40 i believe is what upped the hdmi 1.3 to a 1.4 on the ps3
4)ummm i thought it works with any of the different cables as long as its stereoscopic video? could be wrong on that one

If I connect the VR920 to the PS3 through an HDMI to DVI adaptor, will I be able to use the visor to play the PS3 games that support stereoscopy in HDMI 1.4 format?

after a tonne of research the vuzix video eye wear cannot do ps3's 3d.... currently. The ps3's 3d is digital signal from hdmi 1.4 and the glasses use analog video signal so even using a dvi-hdmi adapter wouldn't work. there are a few converters that may do the trick but i don't have any to test. i messaged vuzix and they say their trying to make it compatible but who knows
