the iWareMonitor supports secondlife up to version 1.21.6 which has been discontinued and logins with it have been disabled as of 5th of august (as stated here).
I'm really interested in getting support again and it has been an important point in deciding to buy the glasses
Is vuzix willing to add support for newer secondlife clients?

I'm also keen to get an answer to this. I'd like to buy a VR920, and use with Second Life would be a major reason. If there's no SL support then that would be a deal-breaker for me.

In the absence of native support in the viewer, is there any kind of support at all, e.g. in mouselook mode? or does it totally fail to work?

Given that the SL viewer is open source, perhaps Vuzix could release the source code for their modifications under GPL or something so that they can be integrated into the viewer codebase?

Yes, we need support of new viewers, or some kind of universal patch for SL.
Any new from Vuzix?

@jasonh: you can use the head tracking in 2d when in mouse look, using an external program called glove pie. that's all for now, sadly...

@mnemonic: i've sent a mail to vuzix support some time ago, and got no response so far...

EDIT: releasing the source of the sl client modifications is the way to go, imho. The sdk from vuzix is already available, and i think many people will love and be able to keep supporting the vr920 once the code is public.

Sure you can use NVidia stereo in SL, if you have 6XXX or 7XXX GeForce. We are talking about iWear support here, a special SL viewer that allow to use stereo and head tracking on any video card.

Um, what are you talking about? Linden Labs has decided to no longer restrict old viewers, the viewers just don't allow certain things going back (like back past windlight)

Been happily using the native viewer for months now, but I talked with a vuzix rep earlier who said the design team already had a new client and were waiting to release it. That was two months ago...

Anyway, you need 1.21.6 binaries already to run it, which can be found here.

Enjoy! I think LL does not block it because it's a nonstandard client once you mod it.

Man you made my day!
It's a blast to have support for SL.
and it works also very good, with easy configurable options via menu!

anyway it will be cool to have support also for the new linden viewer or be able to have vuzix support in opensource viewers...

Thats great news. I was holding back getting a VR920 because everyone was saying it was no longer supported but if the older viewer still works then I shall hold back no longer.

As second life is the main reason I'm getting a VR920 I was just wowonderingoes anyone know how support for windows 7 looks? I know SL works fine in it but dodoesn'the vuzix software and does the SL native viewer system work?
