| | Hi there, Bought my VR920 back in mid 2008, decided it was too buggy, packed it up and put it away until now... Want to know if all of the other users are still having the same old problems with the same old games, like the jerky movement of the head tracking, stereoscopic movie player issues. Also will arma 2 be supported? Im asking this as I really dont want to read through a year+ worth of post's. Regards, GOS |

| I'm pretty glad with my headset and play Crysis and Crysis Warhead very often in VR920 with stereo & head-tracking (with custom settings), also flying light aircrafts in FSX without problems.
My settings for Crysis described here, the same for Warhead:

As for ARMA-2 I started to make GlovePIE script for head-tracking & voice recognition. Head-traking part work great, voice I didn't finished yet, if you want I can share script with you, it's very interesting to play ARMA2 in VR920, with tracking, even without stereo.
Viewing stereo-movies is easy with stereo-player, which now have native support of VR920 (also head-tracking feature), you can get it here:

Try great Vuzix music visualizer if you didn't try it yet, also Monkey visualizing plugin for Winamp can work in stereo if you place Vuzix d3d8.dll into Winamp folder, after installing plugin, and also put VR920Dx8Stereo.cfg there, with following settings:
Method=1, IPD_View=0.015,IPD_Menu=0.000,Manual_VSync=0,Locking=1,LogFile=0,AutoIPD=1, ExpMax=0.200, ExpRate=0.10, ExpPoint=5.0
You can get Monkey visualizer here:

As for head-tracking issues, interesting is that I have very stable head tracking in my apartment, I need to re-calibrate VR920 only one time a week!
However, the same unit in my brother's apartment always buggy with tracking, and for comfortable play you need to recalibrate it each hour or two, so it's depends...
Few... pretty much, hope this would help you |

| | Thanks for your post Mnemonic, Stereoscopic player sounds good, will have a look at that. I also heard that you can view non-stereoscopic movies in stereoscopic, do you know if this is true or even possible? What I cant understand tho is the VR920 works great with the game's it comes with, its only when i play other games like Arma1, Grid, lockon and a few more where the games headtracking goes all jerky. I used Glovepie back then with a custom script for Arma1 and lockon but to no avail... I would really appreciate it if you could send me your script for head tracking in ArmaII to see what it does with my vr920. |

| Use TrackIR emulation via GlovePIE for LockOn - it works great & you can setup smoothness.
Here's my script for ARMA2:
PIE.FrameRate = 120Hz
pie.FrameRate = 120Hz
var.yawraw = RemoveUnits(VR920.Yaw)
var.yaw = smooth(var.yawraw,20)
var.y = var.yaw
ppjoy.Analog0 = (var.y)/80
ppjoy.Analog1 = (vr920.Pitch)/80
ppjoy.Analog2 = (-vr920.Roll)/40
You will also need ppjoy virtual joystick with standard settings, and then just map proper axis of joystick on head movement in ARMA2 options.
You can get ppjoy here:
