| Let me first say I'm proudly sponsoring the further development of Vuzix products by financially backing them and forking over $400 and change for the VR920. In hopes that more $$ will push the development of better products in the future.
Now to the post:
After experiencing great pain using the VR920 in it's stock form, I've decided to rip the VR920 apart and mount it in a more comfortable set of goggles. My plan is to mount it in a pair of ski-goggles with a sports strap and anti-glare coating.
Currently I've ripped it down to the bare parts and was curious what the magnification of the built in lenses were that sit atop the very... very... tiny lcds. My goal us to up the magnification and field of view by customizing some after market optics. Either monoculars with adjustable zooms (and comfy eye covers), or fixed magnification attachments for glasses.
One thing I have noticed so far after opening the unit up. The left LCD is much brighter than the right one. No amount of fiddling with the OSD fixes it... it's just very, very bright by comparison.
