Greetings to all community!
I want to introduce you project called DIVA.
This project would be mainly interesting for database developers, and 3DUI researchers.

It's a tool with 3D User Interface, focused on open-minded database developers that are willing to improve their work with databases.

With this software we trying to achieve usable 3D interface for viewing database logical structures. New visualization of foreign-key dependencies allowed us to create a tool that show large-scale databases in compact & interactive 3D form, and allow to view and analyze every dependency step by step.

To create interactive 3D model of database - DIVA reads database's export script (DDL / SQL). Current release of DIVA v.0.17 works great with Oracle and MsSQL DBMS, MySQL is also supported, but still can be buggy. Use only non-unicode scripts. Unicode is not supported by current version of DIVA.

There was also research in implementing Virtual-Reality manipulation techniques (with low-cost VR devices) in this immersive environment.
We used Vuzix VR920 headset and P5 data glove.
You can see more details in one of our videos "Tutorial 3 - Virtual Reality".

Warning! All innovations can be hard to understand, so please watch our videos before you try application itself, to get clear view of what's going on

Videos, screenshots, and free-version of DIVA, available on our website, hope you will like it.

I saw a video of this on youtube, and it looked quite interesting indeed.
One thing that got me though, is that since most of the text is rendered with perspective it would make sence that the resolution would become a problem for readability.
Other than that though, it really made me think about older movies about virtual reality, or the more recent Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. In other words really cool looking.
Are you one of the developers of this project?

Glad that you like it, yes I'm one of developers, and started this project in the beginning
Sure - higher resolution is give you ability to see more information, but our method of visualization is quite suitable for lo-res displays, because you can always zoom-in properly. Also you have 2D highlight-windows in which we used font's with proper sizes, so it has quite good readability in Vuzix VR920, and on simple monitors too.

Mnemonic,

This is a very cool product indeed. Its great to see that there are developers out there working on new ways to utilize our products; as well as finding new ways to apply 3D concepts to current markets and software platforms. Keep up the good work!
