| | I admit I am not as experienced in how these resolutions and FOV affect all the aspects of the game. I do know that my old VR glasses (I-O I-Glasses) that ran at 800x600 made it impossible to read any text when using them. My question for you guys that definatly have a better grasp on these would be with the new improvements I have read about the new up comming VR1440 that Still is in 800x600 apparently do you think with the other improvements that Text will be readable comfortably? I would probably enjoy using these playing various MMO's or maybe even in some first person shooters that may not be using voice chat 100% of the time so text on screen is important to be readable. What do you guys think? |

| I don't played MMO in mine VR920, but I play Fallout3 and all texts in F3 is readable, also Oblivion is good enough, I've launch Second Life in VR920 periodically, but text's there are not very clean to read, because of font size.
However, the best experience in VR920 for me was FSX, FS2004, LockOn and Crysis, also Live For Speed.
As I know I-O I-Glasses had very small FOV - 23 or something degrees?
VR920 have 32, and I think VR1440 will be not less. |

| I seem to remember that about the FOV as well (I tried some out a couple of times).
The issue with readability of text doesnt sound like a problem with the resolution however, if it is 800x600.
That sounds like an issue caused by downscaling the image. The reason is that if the original image is rendered at 800x600, and there is no downscaling, then most 3D applications would scale the text appropriatly for readability.
So, that issue sounds to most likely have been caused by the image being downscaled after being rendered.
Which model of the I-O-glasses do you have?
An important thing is that many VR-glasses accept resolutions as input while they dont have that native resolution. As I've understood though, the upcoming VR1440 will have 800x600 as it's native resolution.
EDIT:
Oh, and I suppose also the optics can affect the readability of text. The optics in the VR920 are pretty good in my opinion, so I doubt that this will be a problem. It is too early for me to say anything regarding the VR1440 with certainty though. |

| | FOV on VR920 is like 19"-20" screen when you sit infront of it, of course when 640 x 480 is on (in VR920) - text is clear, and easy to read! |
