| the VR is a 62" size screen, yet only offers a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768, correct?
so how is this better than a 17" monitor?

| In fact - VR920's native screens is 640 x 480 pixels, hovewer image quality is quite good (better than on my old 17" CRT monitor). With interpolation (hardware - onboard glasses) VR920 can use 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768. It works really good in 800 x 600 resolution for me, windows font is readable on this settings. It is also possible to view larger resolutions like 1680 x 1050 in goggles, in windows mode when only part of screen outputs to your goggles, and you can scroll this virtual desktop with mouse.
VR920 can be a good monitor for mobile PC solutions, but for stationary PC I would recommend to use VR920 as addition to good 2D monitor. Work with 2D windows on 2D screen, and play games in stereo with goggles.
Actually you cannot measure HMD with terms of simple monitors. VR920 offers you a stereo image (different output for left and right eye), and also a head-tracking, which allow you to look around in 3D space.
P.S. In terms of monitor size, I have 22" LCD screen and VR920's field of view is more like 21" - 22" screen for me. |

| | nice, would be nicer if it had the actual resolution that a 62" monitor would have, measuring horizontally. without rotating your head to view portions of the monitor... something like 4000 x 3000 i suppose. |

| You can try this one: http://www.sensics.com/
With 120-180 FOV, and resolution 4000 x 3000
And it costs, as I remember, 20.000 - 25.000 bucks per unit
P.S. VR920 have very good spec's for it's price, and even higher. |
