There is a place between two eyes, on the top. It's most hot place. If you put there some passive radiator, or like i done, just copper long plate fixed tight to glasses - this hot spot will give away heat, and you will never get black dot. Tested today at 30 celcius hot summer (not usual), 5 hours of playing - nothing like dot. And you won't break any warrancy as you don't even need to open it.

Hi, I think I have to sum myself to those rare cases because my VR920 has had a couple of episodes of this problem, both times it has recovered by itself after a couple of hours. I used the equipment for 3-4 hours at 1024X768 plugged into computer and I hope that the company would resolve this issue or make any recommendations since there is not warning concerning time of use of whatever. I've did not really like to have to replace it for a permanent damage either.

I have ordered a wiimote and sensobar to stick on the top with velcro for 6dof:

but now I'm thinking this may increase the heat; I hope not.

Yeah, I also get this black circle creeping in on the left side on hot humid days or if I accidentally leave my VR920 hooked up for a long while. Using 640x480 resolution doesn't seem to help. From what I've read on the forum it is not common but does occur in some units however it leaves no permanent damage. I wonder if that's why I got mine for only $279; It's the type without the flex-headphones.
