I haven't really found any information on the compatibility of FS9. Does any one know if it is compatible with the VR290 and if so, what are the limitations if any? Please provide as much information as possible. I would really like to buy, but if FSX is the only choice, I will have to wait. Although I have FSX, I prefer FS9 for the time.

Thanks

Brian-

hey,
at the moment there is no out of the box support for fs9.
however you can use a program called glove pie which is a scripting program (it is realy realy realy easy to use)
i wont go into detail about how glove pie works there is heaps of info on it on these forums just look around.
hope you end up joining the vr920 group soon

This was my main sticking point before I purchased the VR920. According to Todd Furguson (technical support at Vuzix) he told me that the VR920 is now fully compatible with FS9, using the newest software version 2.1. It supports both Head tracking and Stereoscopic 3D.

The answer your looking for is yes!

The future is now, grab hold and hang on!

That makes me quite happy Because I can run okay-ish quality FSX with around 8-13 fps but 13-25 extremely high on fs9. I haven't optimized my FSX yet though, and the FS9 settings are unnecessarily high. The first game I'll play with the vr920 when it gets here tomorrow is FSX though

It is not fully compatible with FS9. You dont get stereoscopic 3D in 2D cockpit veiws. The Stereoscopic view is only compatible with aircrafts in FS9 that have Virtual Cockpits. As we know in Century of Flight does not have many freeware addons that have very detailed VC cockpits or even VC cockpits to begin with.

The Coral F15 V.2 panel with the VC cockpit and the F14B Tomcat panel with its VR cockpit is a must have with the VR920. Those are just about the only two highly detailed VC cockpits for fighter planes that you will find in FS9 that you would enjoy.

The future is now, grab hold and hang on!
