I just got my iWear in the mail today, I've installed the software off the CD and plugged in the iWear. At this point both the monitor on my laptop and iWear were functioning. When the external monitor settings screen popped up, I set it to only display on the iWear at which point BOTH the monitor and iWear went blank. The iWear still seemed to be functioning because I could still see it glowing. As soon as I unplug the iWear from my laptop the laptop monitor returns to normal.

I've tried setting the desktop resolution to 1024x768 and 800x600 and both times it still didn't work. And Windows Vista won't let me change the settings for the external monitor without having it plugged in, and if I plug it in both displays will go blank again.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P105-S9337 with Windows Vista.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

set your laptop monitor as the primary monitor and make sure it is set on 1024 by 768 or lower and 60 hertz and make sure ur setings are set on single display. then plug in the vr920 and then set it to clone mode and make sure its setings are the same as the laptop screens settings. then once both screens are working properly you can change it to single screen mode on the vr920 so your laptop screen goes out.

hope it works.

My Vista doesn't have an external monitor settings screen. I blame nvidia. When I plug the VR920 in, windows ignores it until I go into display settings.

There might be a key on the keyboard for toggling the external monitor, which you should try.

By the way, Vista comes with lots of accessability features to help blind users, so maybe you can adjust the settings while the screen is black.
