Not tryed other modes like clone and the like.

Now tryed in clone mode, great thing is pageflipping looks like be working the same, not synched, but pageflipping at all; the red lines appear all times that the vr920 in being used like a monitor.

Also i am from Spain, europe, here we use "," for decimals but seems more related to the visor than just that; thank you very much anyway Carl.

RE: Test my native stereo app

Well, I'm definately doing something wrong with the stereo. It may be related to the fact that my program's frame rate often spikes (to like 300Hz) for no apparent reason, which should be impossible because I am calling it from a timer thread that delays the desired amount of time, minus the time it actually took to run the frame.

But I think decoril has modified the script to something strange. There shouldn't be any compile errors. I fixed the bug that caused compile errors in countries that use "," for a decimal point, ages ago. The start of the script should look like this:

if starting then
cam.pos = [0,160,-500] cm
cam.vFov = 19.2 deg // vertical field of view of vr920
cam.Stereoscopic = true
cam.ScreenDepth = 9 feet // screen depth of vr920
cam.EyeSeperation = 4 cm // real eyes are 6.4 cm apart
cam.AmbientColour = [0.5,0.5,0.5]
end if
RE: Test my native stereo app

Well this is a good start, but stereo look like flickering with bad frequency, i dunno really if stereo work, it look like but not really....

RE: Test my native stereo app

CarlKenner,

If you don't have a VR920 yet, Vuzix should get you one.

I planned on getting one ASAP but now with your work being uploaded here, I can't wait to get one. You having a unit would be good for sales I'm shure.

Vuzix' VR920 website in just the 7 or 8 weeks since it's grand opening is already light years ahead of where the Emagin site ever was. Good work Vuzix.

With posters like CarlKenner and Vuzix' own TeckHead Admin's also posting and keeping an eye on things, this board and the VR920 are on a big up-swing.
RE: Test my native stereo app

There stay getting red lined the two lines vFov and cam.ambient colour; 60Hz dont did it, but with around 100 it stays 3D most of the time, with 1,5 flicks a second or so, less that with 60 or with nothing.

RE: Test my native stereo app

I just downloaded and tried it, and nothing is getting red lines.

Try setting pie.framerate to 60Hz. Oh, I'm so stupid. My build directory stores the EXE file in a different place than where I publish it from, and I forgot to copy it over.

So ignore that EXE file, it is the same as the last exe. That old version only had anaglyph, and the stereo depth was always at infinity. And I hadn't even added the starting function. That was ages ago. Sorry.

I'll upload the right version in a sec.

RE: Test my native stereo app

I have realized that, the movement was not working (a,w,s,d,e,c) because that the start of the first if was not recognized, the cam.pos where running constantly, and then going back to its value after pressing any movement key. will try more things, but i suppose that all of this can be easily addressed by Carl.

RE: Test my native stereo app

It seems that Carl may have forgotten to include the screendepth in the PIE code, also vFov is not present as it, there is indeed an existing thing named fov without v; i´ve just tryed, and fov doesnt reports an error like with vfov; i cant identificate right words for starting or screeDepth, but this may work.

RE: Test my native stereo app

Anyway it seems (i am not a programmer, only have a few notions) that there are some errors that maybe can be appended easily, more exactly that three lines i mentioned, may be there is other way for doing that?, looks like the starting word in the first if doesnt exists for example, and with the fov and scrrendepht maybe they works otherway?

RE: Test my native stereo app

thanks for trying. Sorry about including the wrong exe last time.

http://rapidshare.com/files/52771186/VR920pie.zip

Actually it is the exact same program you can use for emulating mice, keyboards, joysticks, etc. You need to download it again though because I updated it.

Now has a 3D visualisation feature. And if you have a VR920 you can visualise things in stereo. If you don't have a VR920 and you try to visualise things in stereo, it assumes you are using red/cyan 3D (anaglyph) glasses.

I can't test it on a VR920, because I don't have one. So could people please test it for me?

The TestVR920Stereo script should display a 3D stereoscopic scene when you run it. You should be able to look around by turning your head, and you can move with the WASD keys. Move up and down with the E and C keys. The Q key will toggle stereoscopic 3D on or off.

Currently it only runs in a window. I realise that is the opposite of most stereoscopic 3D programs, but I haven't got around to adding full-screen support yet. You should maximise the window before you run it, because maximising it while running it just causes it to stretch without gaining resolution.

Feel free to mess around with the script to make your own scenes. You can use Direct3D .x models in your scene if you set

obj1.model = "tiger.x"

or something like that if you had a file called "tiger.x" in the directory.

I used the actual FOV and screen depth of the HMD. Although I used an eye seperation less than what it really should be, otherwise it can strain your eyes a little. Feel free to change these values to whatever feels best.

I'm sorry for the poor quality of the graphics, but this isn't really a graphics program, it is just so people can visualise to get a better idea of what their script is doing.

But if stereo is working OK in this, I might work on a stereo driver of some sort.
