I'd rather take time to answer them here and now, instead of waiting for you to order something, and not being happy with it.

The AV920 is a composite video only device, so the component adapter you have won't work. Whereas Composite uses two cables for audio and one for video, Component uses all three for video. Officially, we do not support the use of the AV920 on PCs. That said, with just the right adapters, and if the planets align correctly, I've heard of people having success. However, it doesn't tend to work. Shortly, we will be releasing some refurbished units of our DV920. Those have the diopter adjustment, work for composite video, S-Video, and VGA, and can accept resolutions as high as 800x600. It won't do computers or DVD players/iPods as well as either the VR or AV920 will, but it does do both types of devices. The refurbished units will sell for $499, marked down from the retail $799. So, that's something to chew on. You may find that those will be the best fit for your needs.
RE: VR920 VS AV920

Thanks for clearing that up, i liked the idea of the adjustments, so im glad i found out they aren't included.(that would've been a big disappointment). 1 more question is there any way to get the AV920 to hook up to the pc through say, the component adapter that came with my 8600gtx? i know it wouldn't be able to interact like the VR920 but it would still work as the same kind of monitor correct? Since the AV920 has a separate power source and no usb would the computer still recognize it to allow resolution changes? Sorry for all the AV920 questions, since this is the VG920 forum, but i would love to be able to use these to watch a portable dvd player or ipod, and the VR920 doesn't have that capability. thanks again

RE: VR920 VS AV920

Carl's very much right about needing a VGA and USB 2.0 port for the VR920 to work. Other than computers, the only device that we know the VR920 will work (as a display only) is the XBox360. Also, I'd like to point out that the AV920 does not have independent focal adjustment. Just this morning, I realized that our website was saying that it did, and that has been removed. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
RE: VR920 VS AV920

The VR920 does NOT have the features that the AV920 has. Sorry.

They went in two different directions for the two different product. One is not just a more advanced version of the other, they have quite different features.

The VR920 needs to be plugged into a VGA port and a USB (2.0) port at the same time. The USB port powers it. It will appear to be an ordinary VGA monitor and an ordinary USB headset. Many gaming machines have USB ports, but I don't think they come VGA ports.

The VR920 does not have any sort of display adjustment aside from the usual brightness and contrast settings.

VR920 VS AV920

Hello everyone, i read the entire forum and i must say alot of you are very resourceful. Anyway it left me with one thought. Does the VR920 have everything the AV920 has, namely the Independent, precision focus adjustments (+2 to -5 diopters). Also is there anyway to use the VR920 on things like game systems or portable dvd players? I know i could use a laptop but im a tad to poor for one of those. (spent all my money on my desktop XD) In my case im not to worried if i lose the head tracking feature but i definitely want the unit to work on my computer. The AV920 doesn't specify if i could hook it up to a computer so i figured id ask. Or if its easier maybe get some adapters to make the VR920 work on my PS2 etc? Thanks for your time.
