That's because I tested it myself...and it worked. I don't think any of the other source titles have ever worked very well. The big thing is that Valve is constantly making updates to their games, and when that happens, Vuzix has to check through their coding and make sure that by Valve fixing something of their own that they didn't screw up Vuzix's stuff in the process. Also, since people change the source engine around to get their games together, the code ends up completely different, and hence what was done to make, say, Portal work may not necessarily make Team Fortess 2 or HL2: Episode 2 work right.

RE: Portal (Orange Box)

I thought it already did??

Doesn't all games based on the HL2-engine work with the goggles?

+1

RE: Portal (Orange Box)

Love this game and if vr920 could support i would most definitely consider buying a vr920. If it can work with IWearMonitor, then I don't know how. I tried it with GlovePIE, and that works. The problem that I have is that I have to constantly move the view up and down with a button on my Portal Gun (actually a Wiimote). This may be because every time I walk through portals that aren't parallel, the pitch doesn't change but my angle to the horizon does.

What we really need is a mod that constantly keeps your head pitch relative to gravity the same. So when I go through a portal in the wall while looking down at the floor, and come out a portal in the floor, I will still be looking down at the floor. Whereas what currently happens is that I come out of the floor looking at the side wall, and then have to use a button to make my character look down to match my real head.

The mod would have the side effect of having the view suddenly change whenever you go through a portal, which could be annoying or it could be good, I'm not sure. Maybe there would need to be a slower transition to the new angle.

By the way, to those who are commenting and replying in this forum... don't. Replies count as votes.

Portal (Orange Box)

What better way to make this already mind-warping game even more cool than vr920 support.
