It feels as though you are looking through a window, rather than at a screen; if that makes any sense.

RE: Cannot get Stereo 3D to work in IL2: Sturmovik 1946

Did it make a massive difference? The problem was that it was running in opengl mode, so as soon as I switched to directx everything was fine.

Cannot get Stereo 3D to work in IL2: Sturmovik 1946

While I have tried quite a few games, my efforts have been mainly focused on IL2 Sturmovik: 1946. The head tracking works great, and the picture quality is adequate. However, I have thus far been unsuccessful in achieving stereoscopic 3D. I'll list a rundown of the steps that I have taken and all the info that I can supply about my problem.

Vuzix software and firmware is fully updated.

IL2 was instantly detected and enabled by the iwear monitor. I manually copied the "d3d8.dll" and "VR920Dx8Stereo.cfg" files into "C://Program Files(x86)/Steam/Steamapps/common/il 2 sturmovik 1946" as per the instructions. It goes without saying that I am running the program through Steam.

IL2 starts and runs as normally, and once in-game I press Ctrl+F7 and head tracking becomes active. Then, when I press Ctrl+F8 to enable stereo 3D, nothing happens. The game continues to run with no change at all.

At this point I have run out of ideas as to what to try, and I would greatly appreciate any help whatsoever.

Here's my computer specs:
Windows Vista 64-bit
Nvidia Geforce 8800GT
Intel Core2Duo 2.18Ghz
4GB DDR2 RAM

It should be noted that the vuzix 3D visualizer program DOES work. That is the only program that I have been able to achieve stereo 3D in.
