After being on for about ten minuets, the screen for the right eye began to develop thin white horizontal lines that quickly filled the screen. Shortly thereafter the entire right screen turned white. To my relief it went back to normal after unplugging it for a short time. Unfortunately the problem reoccurred after about 5 minuets of use.
I just finished doing a few tests with the vuzix today. The right screen slowly fills with white lines despite changing the resolution and it happens just as often on the 2d desktop or in a stereoscopic 3d game. I have the latest firmware and software. The cord to the Vuzix does not touch any other cable or power cord. I've also tried different USB ports.
The only thing that I can think of is that it's overheating, because the screen does work again after a few minuets rest, but it is very cold here in the house and I don't know how to better test if it is overheating.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

no video

my vr290 is about 2 months old. both screens show only white, right screen flickers, and a message on the iwear monitor screen says vuzix stereoscopy requires a firmware upgrade. they were working ok until today, i tried reinstalling the drivers but no luck, please help

IWEARSDK folder missing from sdk instllation for iwear vr920 glasses

Ive installed the vuzix iwear vr920 2.4 sdk looking forward to developing some stereoscopic software, only to find a folder missing, can you look into this please.
the directory missing is: C:\Program Files\Vuzix Corporation\IWEARSDK\
is not being created, im turning all protection software off before install. Bad times.

This question is related to stereoscopic 3d in second life, but most likely applies to other games also. When I'm using second life in stereo3d, then switch to mouselook, the screen shakes. If I keep the camera just behind the head, its not as bad. It ruins the experience some what because the mouselook is more "immersive".

I have tried changing all the settings in my graphics card and in second life. The only time I can get stereo 3d to an almost usable level, is when I reduce the graphics to the lowest quality, then turn off "opengl VBO (vertex buffer objects)" in the hardware options of second life.

The only problem when I remove opengl's VBO is that any movements feel like my eyes are being cut! (Its a weird feeling when its not on)

Has anyone experienced the shaking problem in stereo3d before? Is it simply that my graphics card (MSI NX8500GT), RAM (1gb) and CPU (intel pentium 4 630) is just not up to a stereo experience?

Thank you for your time box?

Greetings all, just received my Wrap 310's today and was all excited, right up until I put them on, using my iPhone as a video source, and to my surprise it looked like either the magnifying lenses or the LCD's are out of alignment. I played with several of the menu settings, the nose pieces as well as the focus adjustment to no avail.
I have even held the glasses in different positions in front of my eyes trying to compensate for what looks like a mis-aligned set of LCD's. Nope.

My assumption was that when I put these on, after some 'slight' adjustments, I should see a good, single picture as the two converge, yet they don't fully converge and it appears as though there is a slight vertical mis-alignment as well.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks, any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

PS - It appears that this forum is geared more towards the VR920, so my apologies for posting here, but what are my choices? :)

Adjusting the pupillary distance

I have just received my wrap 920. There was no problem connecting my Iphone and the 920, but when I watch a video I don't not get a clear vue of the video. I soon found out that it was because me pupillary distance is wider than the lenses of the glasses. If I just watch with my left eye, I get a blurred vision to the left, and the same to the right with my right eye. If I move the glasses 2 or 3 mm to the left, the picture gets normal on my left eye, and the same on my right eye if I move it to the right.
Is there a way to change the pupillary distance? My pupillary distance is 69 mm.
Quake4

Hello!!
I'm try to launch Quake4. I have it all running fine in 32bit mode but our application has to run in 64bit mode too.

It is a Java application for which I've created a wrapper to my own DLL which in turn calls the Vuzix libraries. The problem I have is that the SDK only comes with 32bit DLL's and LIB files. Because of this the Java runtime and Vista refuse to load the 32bit libraries to allow me to talk to the glasses unless the whole application is running under the 32bit JVM.

Are there 64bit libraries available, or will the be? Failing that is there any advice how I might go about loading a 32bit DLL under a 64bit process in Vista as I seem to be hitting my head against a brick wall at the moment! :)

Many Thanks

Mark

VR920 + Crysis issue

Every time I try to play crysis with the VR920, my display freezes, the game still loads I can hear it through my speakers, but my display stays at the desktop. The non-Vuzix apps (games) don't display in stereoscopic anymore except for doom 3 but the vuzix games Axysnake and Airsonix work ok. I had the non Vuzix games working (Halo, COD4, Crysis) but suddenly they stopped and started to give this message. When I press the ctrl-F8 keys I can see the info in the upper left of the screen, ie preset 1, convergence xxx, separation xxx%, and AutoFocus off. In Halo when I press the key combo the image shifts to the right but it doesn't display in 3d. The head tracking seems ot work in most of the games just no 3d. I have a new Toshiba laptop with 64bit Vista and 4GB ram, with ATI 3650 graphics. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

Any Help is appreciated.

Edit: I got things back to normal. I found out through a google search that the iz3d driver causes this error. I removed the iz3d driver and all is well now. I still have a question though: Must the Vuzix drivers be uninstalled to use the iz3d driver? I assume so but have not tried it.

3d missing or right display black

Seems all of a sudden most games the 3d effect is gone, the games play great, but in 2D mode.
I have to uninstall the Vuzix drivers and reinstall then it works but 'drops' out when I go to play the game later.

Also I usually use the Iz3D drivers (always worked great in the past) but in Bioshock the right screen is black in 3d mode and with no drivers it plays in 2D fine...(And no 3D effect in WoW or others using Vuzix drivers)

I also can not get Stereoscopic player to work correctly now, I choose software pageflipping and the files I use are Field Sequential movies (which I know worked in the past, have used them).

I have the latest firmware, already checked that version.

(I use the VR920 as the only display during these tests)

If you need more info let me know..

Intel I7 920 2.6gig quad core

Asus P6T Deluxe

Corsair 3 gig

2x 260GTX (216) SLi
Vista Home Premium SP1 (and current updates)

DVI Analog adapter problem

Hi,

I recently bought the VR920. Had lots of problems with the picture. I went through all the forums and tried various things.

I am getting a blue screen on the VR920 display when I use the DVI-VGA adapter which came with the unit. On the I-Monitor and the Nvidia graphics it is detecting and I have used all the correct settings, but still there is a blue screen.

When I am using the VGA every thing works OK, except the screen is shaky on the VR920 display with stereo switched on. I did try to correct the seperation using the ctrl+F8. The tearing of the screen from top to bottom corrected a bit but every few seconds the picture shakes. One of the forum there was a mention about trying the DVI-VGA adapter, but that does nt work in my case.

My config

Window vista 32, Nvidia graphic 8400, dual core.

Did try the Glovepie- mouselook and TrackIR- same problem.

There is not problem with the tracking. Only display output is not stable. If I disable the stereo the picture is steady but in 2D and if I change to 3D(by changing the L-R eye on the Vr920 menu) the screen hangs, which i can restore by going back.

Please help!

Stereoscopic not working for NeuroVR

I am able to get the VR920 working with head tracking, but for some reason nothing is stereoscopic. I have tried the VR920 on all of them and here is what I have found:

1. on a laptop with ATI x1600 graphics running Vista The headset works with the vuzix graphics programs but none of the supported programs in the iMonitor application work in 3d. Some work with head tracking.

2. On a desktop machine running Windows 7 RC with an nVidia 800 card nearly all of the iMonitor supported programs seem to work in 3d and head tracking (with varying results).

3. On another desktop machine running XP with an ATI 9600xt graphics card I get similar results as in 1. The exception is that I get a double image on the headset, same as on the PC Monitor.

4. On a Tablet PC running XP and having Intel graphics The 3d works but is not as good as on 2. I can't get the head tracking to work on this machine.

My question is what can be done on the ATI machines to get this thing working? In hopes that more $$ will push the development of better products in the future.

Now to the post:

After experiencing great pain using the VR920 in it's stock form, I've decided to rip the VR920 apart and mount it in a more comfortable set of goggles. My plan is to mount it in a pair of ski-goggles with a sports strap and anti-glare coating.

Currently I've ripped it down to the bare parts and was curious what the magnification of the built in lenses were that sit atop the very... very... tiny lcds. My goal us to up the magnification and field of view by customizing some after market optics. Either monoculars with adjustable zooms (and comfy eye covers), or fixed magnification attachments for glasses.

One thing I have noticed so far after opening the unit up. The left LCD is much brighter than the right one. No amount of fiddling with the OSD fixes it... it's just very, very bright by comparison.

Always Crashing in Vista 64

Everytime I load up stereoscopic software (including software included with the VR920) my computer crashes.
